GOOD NEWS: In July of 2008 Jack was adopted by a very nice family! We wish Jack all the best! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Jack is a large sized orange and white cat. He is a good boy, playful and has leadership qualities. By that we mean that Jack is a big cat and tends to be the BOSS. He is THE MAN…and he isn’t afraid to let the other cats know by jumping on them and wrestling them. He may be best as an only cat or as a cat with others who like to rough house and wrestle. He does indeed like other cats, and he is a nice boy. He is tired of living at the shelter and needs room to play and run and rest on someones lap or chair. In this video you can see how charming he is and how he likes to rub up to you and seek out love and attention. Please consider adopting this handsomecat. Noah’s Kingdom Humane Society is an all VOLUNTEER, not for profit organization dedicated to animal rescue, adoption and ending animal overpopulation. The cats and dogs we have for adoption are rescued from traditional shelters where they may have been euthanized. In addition, we also aquire cats and dogs from a variety of rescue situations. We proudly are a NO-KILL shelter. Thanks for viewing our site. For more info visit: www.noahskingdom.org petfinder.org/shelters/ny308 www.myspace.com All of us volunteers thank you for watching!

Dog and Puppy Adoption Fees – Why Are not Rescue Pets Free?

Folks searching for his or her next dog or puppy have asked, “why are adoption fees charged for rescue dogs and puppies?” Another similar query asked is, “why are adoption fees typically expensive, when rescued dogs are ‘homeless pets?”Since we understand individuals who are involved with operating shelters and rescue organizations, we tend to talked with them for you. We tend to want to answer our members’ questions, to be helpful to each our members as potential adopters, and therefore the rescue organizations.There are 2 common types of pet adoption organizations;

Community Shelters (typically referred to as Humane Societies) and also the second sort – Rescues. Shelters and Rescues will be massive and well funded, or small, with basically no outside funding. The larger, well funded Shelters, in bigger towns and cities often have very refined fund raising capabilities. These Shelters will have dedicated paid management and employees, typically as well as veterinarians on staff. Of course, volunteers usually facilitate these facilities to control, as well. In larger towns and cities, the budget necessary to supply services to the community will be very substantial.

A little of that budget comes from fundraising efforts, and a number of the budget must come back from adoption fees. These Shelters normally operate on a non-profit basis, and they have to generate enough funding to require care of the animals and serve the communities’ needs. (We have a tendency to will cover a number of the expenses below.)Rescue organizations usually are abundant smaller than the Shelters, and typically are all-volunteer and foster family based. Most Rescues do not have a shelter facility, and instead all of the pets are housed in volunteer foster family’s homes. When the Rescue takes in pets for adoption, they live with the fosters till adopted by their new permanent families. Rescues usually have very little or no fundraising capabilities. They’re not funded by the town government, businesses or different outside sources. Some of the expenses shelters and rescues must cover, to remain open, embrace basic desires like food and medicines. Crates, kennels, beds, leashes, grooming things, etc, all are necessary to supply look after the animals.

Often the rescues and shelters take in dogs and puppies from out of state shelters because those shelters are seriously over populated. To save the dogs and puppies from a terrible fate, your local rescue will travel to pick them up. After all transportation, gasoline, van rentals, etc, can add up to many dollars – even with volunteer drivers.Veterinary services are necessary and will vary from standard vaccinations and medications, to substantial vet prices for a dog that’s seriously sick or injured. The costs of vet care will start at less than $ a hundred per pet, however serious medical needs might generate costs of ,000 or more, just for one puppy or dog.

Rescues and shelters’ goal and purpose is to avoid wasting pets and realize them homes. A pet that may be saved and adopted can not be euthanized at these “no kill” organizations as a result of of a reason like – the vet bill to make them healthy is just too high.Adoption fees can vary from as little as to typically as abundant as 0. Each larger adoption groups, and smaller rescues must cowl their expenses to require care of the animals, before people such as you adopt them.

(As a comparison, breeders and pet stores usually charge abundant higher fees for his or her pets. Pure bred puppies, as an example, commonly vary well higher than 0 and can be priced above $ one,000 or even $ a pair of,000 and higher.)Adoption fees will vary, primarily based on a number of things, as well as the age of the dog, and therefore the expected ease or difficulty of finding a permanent adopter for the dog or puppy. It is smart that the shelter or rescue’s prices must be lined, for them to remain open and continue to help these “homeless” pets, and save them from meeting a terrible fate.Since the costs must be unfold across all the adoptions, fees must enable the rescue to continue to work and save the next dog or puppy, and notice them a permanent home as well. After you adopt a rescue dog or puppy, you can grasp that you’re saving that dog’s life…. and your adoption fee makes it potential for another pet to require it’s place with the rescue or shelter. So you are participating during a chain of events that saves one dog, then another…. and so on.

There are some questions that you will need to ask yourself and the employees of the shelter before you getting pets for adoption process. You will want to make sure that you take the time to be a responsible pet adoption lover by taking the time to ask some of the following questions.

First, you will want to ask yourself what type of dog adoption are you looking for. You will not only want to think about things like breeds, breed mixes, sizes, fur length, and age, but you will also want to think about the behaviors of the dogs as well. If you are looking for a dog that will protect your home and your family, you may want to have a more aggressive dog or at least a dog that has the attacking instinct. That means, you will not want to get a small toy breed to protect your family. The toy breeds are mostly for companionship. Keep in mind that there are some breeds like labs that are perfect for any household. They tend to be great with kids and are not aggressive unless they are provoked. A lab will attack an intruder or someone who they feel is there to harm their family, but will not harm any of the children. http://swa-pets.com

The second question that you will want to ask yourself is if you feel that everyone is on board with the dog adoption. If this is a family dog, then the family needs to come together in order to pick the dog. You will want to make sure that you make an effort in bringing the whole family together before going down to the shelter to pick out the family pets for adoption.

You will also want to ask yourself if you have the lifestyle that will have room for a dog and if this is a good time. Just because you are lonely and have plenty of time does not mean that you are ready. You may end up finding that your dog needs revolve around your loneliness. If you are sad, then the dog will be sad. You can not use a dog to replace someone that you have lost.

As for the lifestyle, you will want to make sure that you are able to make the commit. There are a lot of people who feel the need to have a dog, because it’s hard to be alone at nighttime, however, what will you do with the dog when you are away from home? What will you do with the dog while you are at work? These are major issues that need to be addressed. You will find that your currently lifestyle and living situations are just not compatible for pets for adoption such as a dog.

When we consider bringing a new pet home – and let’s face it, more often than not we are talking about a puppy in this case – then one of the first things that children ask is whether or not we’ll be going to the pet store to get the new puppy.  Of course, most of the time, puppies that are bought in stores are far more expensive than, say, a puppy that was given to you by a family member, family friend, or a neighbor.  Not to mention the fact that most puppies that are being sold in pet stores are the purebred types, and believe us when we say that they are more trouble than they’re worth – the thing about purebred puppies is that they tend to be far more sickly than mongrel puppies, and it’s a sad, sad thing indeed that most people put so much stock on the breed of the dog when there are other perfectly good, healthy cross-bred puppies who will love you just as much.  Adopting a puppy – and it’s recommended that you find a puppy adoption center with a good reputation for this – is one of the cheaper, more satisfying ways to add a canine into your life.  Whether you go to a Pet Adoption Center, a Dog Adoption Center,  or simply an adoption shelter for abandoned pets, the end result is likely always the same: you will find the puppy that you are absolutely in love with, and you will have the added satisfying bonus of knowing that you have done your part in protecting this wonderful creature from all the harms in the world.  They may not have been loved before, but you will be showing them that they are lovable.

Of the eight million pets that enter animal shelters and rescue groups every year, approximately three million of these healthy and treatable pets are euthanized due to a lack of adoption. Adoption of a pet can be done in three different ways. The place of the pet mainly depends on the kind of breed one is looking into. Generally, adoption is undertaken for the animals like cats and dogs. Let us look into some of the ways of adoption.

Adoption of the pet includes the type of the breed, the owner of the breed and the location where the pet is. To opt for a specific combination of breed of either dog or cat, the interested person has to browse the site which gives the complete stature about the breed. It also facilitates the comparison of rates, food habits, behavior with the people, and adaptability to the location with the other pet breeds. Payment should not be made till such time the pet that is going to be adopted is physically seen. Mostly, adoption of a pet through a breeder will be quite expensive. After adoption the breeder will not pay amount towards the cost of the vet. When the money is paid before the adoption of pet, then any cost towards the vet has to be borne by the person who has paid for the pet adoption. The cost involved towards neutering or even spaying will not be borne by the breeder.

In the case of the humane society, the pets will be given for adoption after the neuter or spay. This type of society offers the pets that are rescued and sometimes those animals that are left by the owners in this society due to various reasons. Very rarely, it also offers new pets.

The retail shops will not have all the breeds and they will have a particular breed. The adoption of a particular breed had to done only after getting the confirmation regarding the spaying and the neuter. The retail store will release the breed only after checking the background of the person who is intending to adopt the pet.

If you are keen on adopting a large sized pet, you can check it out http://largepet.info that helps find a pet of your choice thus saving the task of running around the places to find the right one for you.

It is not only the retail shops that will ask for the history of the person going to adopt the pet, but also the breeders will be enquiring about the same. Some of them may enquire with various references regarding the intending adopter and gets confirmation regarding his love towards the pet and the care that will be provided by him to the pets after adoption. The pets will be handed over to the intending person only after he satisfies all the norms

When the pet is adopted from a private owner, then the experience will be completely different. In general, these private owners will not be the breeders and they may give the kittens or the dogs they have. In some cases, they may give their own pet for adoption due to various reasons. In this case, the person adopting the pet will be in charge of the spaying and the neutering. The fee charged by these private owners is less.
